I am trying to configure NotePager and need to know how to determine the baud and parity settings. Where do I find this information?

The industry standard for most TAP connections is:
Baud Rate: 1200
Parity: Even
Data Bits: 7
Stop Bits: 1
The specific connection settings, though, can vary based on what you're connecting to. |

thanks for the information; I just downloaded NotePage and really like how the software is suppose to work, but I am having trouble configuring it to work for me. I ran the set-up wizards. Any suggestions?

What carrier are you trying to deliver your messages to? |

my cell is a Verizon phone, so I was just trying to test the software by sending one to myself, but I'll need to send to several other carriers as well

Right, what TAP number were you trying to use for Verizon? |

for TAP, I used a Baud Rate of 1200, but for SNPP I just systematically tried all of the combinations on the list.

The Verizon SNPP host doesn't message their cel phones, it's a host set up to message Verizon pagers.
For the Verizon TAP host, try 866-823-0501 for the phone number (in the carrier settings). |

I am intending to use NotePage as a appointment reminder software. I hope to use NotePage to send text messages to our patients' cell phones at a scheduled time with respect to their appointment day and time. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Or will NotePage be able to work for that? It looks like to me that all I have to do is have a staff member use the software to schedule the messages to go out at whatever time we designate. Is that what this software is designed for or should I keep looking? I tried the 866 number you sent me and the message is still not sending.

With NotePage software, staff can schedule or send text messages to your patients' cell phones.

Perfect, that is exactly what I need. Is there a more comprehensive list of directions and settings? I did the wizard and tried the things we discussed on this site. It seems like this should work, but I just don't have the right settings configured.

I still have not been able to configure Note Page on my PC. Are there set by set instructions? Does the model of my cell phone matter. I have had several problems getting this to work. I really like the Note page interface...I just can't get it to work. I'm sure the limitation is mostly my own skills in this area. Please help me get this up and running.

If you don't mind, please do this for me:
1) Open NotePager Pro.
2) Go to View - Dialer Log.
3) In the Dialer Log, left click on the Clipboard button.
4) Open your email program.
5) Create a new message to support at notepage dot com
6) In the subject line, enter: Forum Log
7) Put your cursor in the body of the message and hit Ctrl+V on your keyboard.
Please send that to me and we'll be able to get you up and running. |
